Overview

Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte–stimulating hormone (α-MSH) that activates melanocortin receptors to increase melanin production. It has been used in non-regulated settings for skin tanning and pigmentation enhancement.

Appetite suppression and libido effects (off-target CNS activity)

Darkening of existing nevi and development of new pigmented lesions

Melanotan II exerts biologic effects through:
